Ph.D.      A director of ICT and a graduate of Kharkov State University with a specialty in genetics, has been in the forefront of research in embryonic hemopoitic cells and work on methods for long-term storage of the cells at low temperatures. She has received 15 authors' certificates and patents.   Curriculum Vitae   Weiwen Deng, MD., Ph.D.      Dr. Deng has conducted important research in the use of stem cells to treat cardiovascular diseases, erectile dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension. He holds an M.D. from Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, P.R. China, and a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from Tulane University. He also holds a Master's Degree in microbiology and immunology from Shanghai Medical University.   Curriculum Vitae   Alexey Bersenev, MD., Ph.D      Dr. Bersenev is conducting stem cell research on leukemia in the Kimmel Cancer Center of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, with the department of microbiology and immunology. Prior to his association with the university, he was a senior scientist in the Stem Cell Biotechnology Laboratory of the Institute of Transplantology, Moscow, Russia. He holds an M.D. in surgery and general medicine from the Izhevsk State Medical Institute in Russia and a Ph.D. in Transplantation from the Stem Cell Biotechnology Laboratory, Institute of Transplantology, Moscow, Russia.   Curriculum Vitae   Igor Katkov, Ph.D.      Dr. Katkov holds an academic position at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and he is a member of The Burnham Institute Stem Cell Center in La Jolla, CA. His expertise combines a knowledge of physics, biology, biochemistry and stem cell biology. Since 1988, he has been a scientific consultant to the Institute for Cryobiology and Cryomedicine in Kharkov, Ukraine. He has gained unique experience in working with adult, cord blood, and embryonic stem cells, and is an active consultant in organizing a cord blood stem cell bank in St. Petersburg, in the Russian Federation.   Curriculum Vitae   Nicholas Kipshidze, MD.         Curriculum Vitae   Nikita Tregubov, MD.         Curriculum Vitae   Sean C. Orr, MD.      Dr. Orr received an M.D. degree from the University Of South Florida College Of Medicine, in Tampa, Florida, in 1995. He completed four years of postgraduate Neurological training at the University of South Florida and then served for two years as a fellow in Vascular and Critical Care Neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.         Dr. Orr has been medical director of the Stroke Center since October 2004. Before that, from May 2003 to October 2004, he was Chief Information Officer and Director of Research and Neuroimaging at the Alabama Neurological Institute, in Birmingham, Alabama. From July 2001 to May 2003, he was an assistant professor of Neurology in the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.         Dr. Orr is committed to the development of the field of Regenerative Neurology, of which stem cell therapy is a central component.
