A seasoned entrepreneur, a founder or co-founder of five companies, Calvin Cao co-founded Stem Cell Therapy International Corp., Tampa, FL. As chief executive officer of SCTI, he is the driving force behind its strategy to make SCTI the dominant global company in the field of stem cell transplants and other newly develop cell therapies.
As an entrepreneur, he has been affiliated with companies which provide leading edge technology, e-commerce distribution, investment banking and a chain of vascular clinics. After graduating from the University of South Florida in 1991, with a BSEE degree in electrical engineering, Mr. Cao launched Cao Computer Technology, Tampa, FL, a company that provides engineering and business technology strategy, product development and designing mission-critical enterprise systems. The company has provided services for large businesses and universities as well as state and local governments. He ran that company successfully until 1996, when it merged with International Net Corp, Tampa, FL, which is a worldwide distributor of IT products and other high-quality electronic products; of which Mr. Cao was also a co-founder. As president and COO of International Net, he was actively engaged in mergers and acquisitions as well as raising capital until 1999 when he sold his shares back to the company.
At the same year, he formed Micronet Capital Corp., an investment-banking boutique that specialized in helping start-up companies with private placements, M&A and other financial services. In 2004, Micronet Capital Corp. merged with Global Capital Corp., to better position and reflects the global presence of its services and offerings. Global Capital Corp. is still in operation and successful.
In 2004, Mr. Cao co-founded Vascular Relief Center Corp, the parent company of a chain of vascular clinics called Vein Associates, headquartered in Heathrow, FL. Vein Associates specialized in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoids, varicose and spider veins using minimally invasive procedures. Vein Associates still continues to operate and is active in acquisitions of other similar clinics and businesses.
In 2005, Mr. Cao decided to dedicate his energies to working full time with SCTI Corp.
